Cameroon

The young girl from Bertoua in Cameroon.

My name is Inak Martin Jules delegate general of ASAD Cameroon and the promoter of the CEFAF of Bertoua
Since several years, the question of the right of women saw a lot of progress.
But there are still practices which remain worrying. It is the case of girls of East Cameroon that sparked up the creation of the CEFAF of Bertoua.

Overcoming Poverty in Northwest Cameroon

In Misaje Subdivision (Donga-Mantung) of the Northwest region of Cameroon, there are no businesses and services to employ the rural youths. It’s nearly impossible to find salaried work.

We till the earth to produce food in subsistent small farms.

Changes in Cameroon's EFA Schools

In Cameroon, the Ecoles Familiales Agricoles (EFA) are generally located in densely populated areas where lack of education is very high. Young people wander around the villages at an early age, and few go to school.

Emancipation of the young girls of the tribes GBAYA and DJEREM

Formerly, we GBAYA girls (GAROUA-BOULAI) were victims of ancestral very rough traditions.

That exposed us to practices like early forced marriage and no acces to education.

They call me BIL-BIL

My name is the millet beer better known as the "bil-bil". Before, I gathered the population around a happy or sad event. Drinking in community had a meaning of sharing

Sustainable Agriculture in the Far-North of Cameroon

In the far-north east of Cameroon, the degradation and the poor quality of the soil are obstacles in agricultural development. Our crop yields were always low and we were often malnourished. Indeed, because of our weak purchasing power, we were not able to to get chemical fertilisers. A large majority of Cameroonians are unable to master the production process of organic fertilisers.

Professional educational development in rural areas

In the year 2005, in the district of Baré Bakem, a coastal region in Cameroon, I noticed a real problem with the lack of careers advice for young people.

As a result, this has created for them, an obstacle in living independently and in being qualified to easily find work. After finishing their general education, most young people find themselves unemployed and leave rural areas in mass, which affects this community.

The integration of young people at the Centre of Agricultural Training (CAPAM) in Cameroon

The founding of CAPAM in 2014 has positively diversified the Nyong-et-So'o area's educational grid of technical and professional teaching. CAPAM is an agricultural training centre in the village of Zamakoé, four miles from the city of Mbalmayo in Cameroon.

CAPAM, the Agricultural Training Centre - Cameroon

This is an introduction to the Agricultural Training Centre (CAPAM), where I work as an instructor.

The aim of CAPAM's training program is to train young people in agropastoral practices. The centre is located in the village of Zamakoé, six miles from the town of Mbalmayo on the Mbalmayo-Yaoundé route, in Cameroon's Centre Region.
