16. Peace, justice and strong institutions

In most rural and nomadic communities, children undertake jobs that are imposed on them.

Our teacher asked us to do an assignment about Human Rights, what made my classmates realise the consequences of the way they were treating me.

Maïmouna is a 16 year old girl, learning in 3rd secundary grade. Her father gave her in marriage to a man who came from France, a rich "modou_modou", who is almost the same age as him, without thinking of the consequences.

My former student decided to go on an adventure with the help of his big brother. He sold his Diakarta motorbike to make a bit of money. But he ended up being extradited from Italy to Senegal. Now he rides a Diakarta motorbike just like before.

The situation for us, the young people of Toucountouna, is deplorable and gives food for thought. Our objective is to help our young people to flourish and contribute to the harmonious development of the town.

At the registry office in Tambacounda where I work, we are faced with people who do not have birth records because they have not been registered. We need radical solutions to solve these administrative problems which seem to be still a major challenge in Senegal.

Over the past few years, Charlie has been coordinating the activities of the Vital Statistics project. The challenge is digitalization, modernization of the service and a birth certificate for each citizen.

Populism, what is it ? And what are the mechanisms and consequences ? A result of an engaging activity to collaboratively explore and develop a shared understanding of a critical topic like populism.

As this problem continues to spread more and more in our GUATEMALA and in other countries, we nowadays see how aggression, violence and even suicide are handled. That is why the adolescent shows signs of being afraid to go to school, even in different places. That is why I invite all people, parents, and students to collaborate and help eradicate this problem.

Tambacounda is one of the regions of Senegal most affected by the phenomenon of clandestine emigration. It is urgent to find solutions to combat this issue, because we are all concerned. I believe education, reintegration and self-employment should be the basis of our policies to combat this emigration.
