Agroecology: Forming citizens geared to life.

My name is Graciely Oliveira and I am a monitor of the Dom Antônio Possamai Family Farm School,.

I am here to talk about the profile of agroecology and the advances of the team in the training of rural youth. What exactly is agroecology? For the team, agroecology is an innovative science geared to life. In the period from 2013 to 2015, we made some progress:

The Young Man and the Community

Hello, I am Moises. I was born in the city of Valente, which is in the semiarid region of Bahia. I live in the Minação neighbourhood. Since I was a kid, I always had a keen interest in social causes, being an activities helper in Aurelina Lopes school. At the moment I am one of the directors of the Minação Neighbourhood Community Development Association.

Cerrado region in Brazil is in danger

Do you dream of an exotic trip?
In search of a glance at your favorite animal in its natural environment?
Then you might just go to the woods in the Amazon.
Untill the constant rain.
snakes, spiders and biting insects change your mind. You’d probably rather not.

The pathway of youth protagonism

My name is Ana. I am 15 years old, with many dreams. I believe that I will fulfil each one of them; even though there was a time when I thought that to be impossible.

I live on the outskirts of Salvador, in the part of the city that has nothing to do with the one shown on postcards.

Planting trees in cities - Rondônia Brazil

Hi there, my name is Matheus Sales, I live in the city of Ji-Paraná, Rondônia and am a student at Alejandro Yague Mayor School.

Some time ago I started to wonder why trees are cut down in urban areas. And I found that there is a misconceived idea that trees are incompatible with urban environments. This is not true because with prior planning we can live harmoniously with them.

A Humanitarian Crisis Called Immigration

Hi, my name is Mariana Oliveira Queiroz, student at the Alejandro Yagüe Mayor School. My story is about Venezuelan immigrants in Ji-Paraná, RO, Brazil.

A look into the workshop in Rondônia, Brazil

Selective Garbage Collection. Small daily habits change the world!

I am a teacher. I live in Ji-Paraná, one of the largest urban centres in the state of Rondônia, in the Northern Region of Brazil.

Here, it is still possible to get the benefit of some renewable resources. One of them is water from the river that flows through the city, supplying our homes and fulfilling our needs.

Acceptable Buffoonery

When a child I would watch Patati Patatá
Movies with clowns in them moved me
I thought it incredible how something ridiculous could brighten a place.
The work of the Doctors of Joy moved me.

I got to know an amazing troupe
And right away I tried to fit in
As a specialist in transmitting joy
That's what they began calling me.

How we created our community web radio - Cafundó

During the Covid-19 pandemic, a desire for dialogue and the demand to foster widespread communication emerged among diverse cultural movements in the city of Crato, Ceará.

We started to discuss possibilities and ways to enable the construction of a communication vehicle that would be available to give voice and visibility to cultural and community agents and have a collaborative role. … That's how our Radio Cafundó Web was founded.
