Feedback from the interns of VUB at Comundos, 2024

Three master students from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) interned with us. They did an excellent job with high-quality translations in Spanish, French, Dutch and English. Their willingness to collaborate and connect with our global network was valuable. As an organization, we experienced a close-knit team that supports each other to achieve our goals. At Comundos, we also prioritize supporting them to discover their own talents. A sincere thank you to Micaela, Ingrid and Asmae for their great contributions to Comundos!

Introduction of SDG lesson plans

In our interconnected world, understanding global challenges is crucial. By integrating the Sustainable Development Goals into education, we not only create informed global citizens but also empower the next generation to be catalysts for transformative change. That is why we design SDG lessons, to inspire teachers, worldwide. We also offer 27 "pedagogical twists" as flexible tools to inject creativity and adaptability into teaching.

The pedagogical twists

Sometimes lessons appear too plain; they miss a twist that can alter the approach to the lesson and foster students’ engagement, interest and performance. This is why we believe that it is helpful to provide a list of pedagogical twists that can guide teachers in their teaching process.

The pedagogical twists enlisted below were chosen on the basis of scientific literature and personal experience. Certainly, the list could be much longer, but we have chosen about 27 different pedagogical twists because some are scientifically proven to be effective teaching methods, some can perfectly fit with the content and activities of the lessons on SDGs, some can be easily combined at your discretion, and, finally, you can be inspired by those to come up with your own pedagogical twists for your students as, eventually, you are the one that knows them at best.

The list is divided in twists that would be better applied before the lesson/lesson cycle, during a chosen specific activity at your discretion, or at the end of the lesson/lesson cycle. As mentioned earlier, you can adapt those pedagogical twists according to the context and students’ needs.

Cyber Security course, necessary skills for navigating safely on the internet

Welcome to the digital age, where technology permeates our lives and cybersecurity is crucial. In this world, we store our most sensitive information online, conduct financial transactions electronically, and communicate with loved ones worldwide. However, these digital conveniences also come with evolving threats. As educators, it is our job to equip ourselves and our students with the necessary knowledge and tools to navigate the digital landscape safely and responsibly.

This is a 2hr online or presential course.

Feedback from our 2023 Translation and Communication Interns (VUB)

30 September 2023 – Three master's students from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) joined us as interns in May/June 2023. They did an outstanding job by delivering very good translations in Spanish, French, Dutch, and English. Additionally, they were open to interacting and working together with people from our global network. As an organization, we can say we had a very strong team that supported each other to achieve the necessary results. Being an intern at Comundos also means that we give you the chance to discover your talents. Many thanks to Mónica, Noémie, and Andru for their great support to Comundos!
