The difficulties and water resources of families in the semi-arid region.
My name is Levi, I am a student at EFA Dom Fragoso, and I am from the municipality of Pedra Branca-CE, where there have always been problems regarding water availability and quality.
And which have intensified recently for many reasons, such as: the deforestation of large areas for agricultural activities and the use of pesticides that are used to manage plantations, which end up leaving water sources unfit for consumption.
In contrast to all this, our family is discovering, through EFA, technologies for coexisting with the semi-arid region, which help to optimize water use.
Such as: plate cisterns, which guarantee human consumption.
Biowater, with the reuse of gray water, which is water contaminated with soap and which allows irrigation through drip irrigation.
In addition, the recovery of riparian forests and the construction of underground dams are also examples of techniques to optimize water use.
Despite the difficulties, we are moving towards water sovereignty with these sustainable techniques, changing the reality of the Brazilian semi-arid region.
